 HOPE BAY ORO PROJECT
The Hope Bay ORO project is being funded by Sennen Resources Ltd. as part of an option agreement with North Arrow Minerals Inc. (TSXV-NAR) to earn a 60% interest in the property by funding a $5 million exploration program over a five year period.
Highlights:
• Proximal to the new Doris North gold mine operated by Hope Bay Mining Ltd. (Newmont) which along with the Madrid and Boston deposits, make up one of the largest undeveloped gold projects in North America (9 million oz. resource).
• Property contains similar stratigraphy and structure as the Doris deposit and has known gold occurrences.
Summary:
The 10,000 acre Oro property adjoins the Doris North mine property being brought into production by Hope Bay Mining Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation), and covers the northern 10 km of the prolific 80 km long Archean Hope Bay Greenstone belt. This belt contains Hope Bay Mining's Doris, Boston and Madrid deposits that contain a reported 10.6 million ounces of gold, and collectively represent one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits in Canada.
A 1500 metre diamond drilling program commenced in late July 2011, targeting the Ida Point prospect and the Elu Shear zone. The purpose of the drill program was to further define the extent of mineralization within the previously identified Elu shear where previous surface trenching over a 400 m strike length returned significant gold values including 11.6 grams per tonne gold (g/t Au) over 1.9 m and 24.7 g/t Au over 5 m. A four hole diamond drill program in 1998 returned downhole intersections of 14.3 g/t Au over 2 m and 5.5 g/t Au over 6 m.
A total of 11 holes (1,225 m) were drilled on the Elu shear, with noteable intersections of 7.55 m grading 4.91 g/t Au in hole 11-HB-04 (including 8.00 g/t Au over 4.20 m), and 2.0 m grading 20.22 g/t Au in hole 11-HB-10. For results of the drilling program please view the Company's news release dated November 9, 2011.
Sennen considers the Hope Bay Property to have significant merit given its proximal location to the Doris deposit and the related infrastructure improvements currently being constructed by Newmont, including an airstrip and barge docking facility.
